In early 2026, the ice sports competition arena in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, was officially put into service. Shenzhen GCL Electronics Co., Ltd. delivered and installed all LED display systems for the venue, including outdoor grid screens, 360° bucket-shaped panoramic screens and circular advertising screens, which are now fully operational. This landmark project stands as a new industry benchmark, showcasing Gengchuang’s robust LED technology capabilities to empower sports venue events.
Spanning a total area of 960 sq.m., a curved LED display runs along the exterior wall at the arena’s main entrance. To accommodate the building’s lightweight load-bearing requirements and adapt to Russia’s prevalent frigid outdoor climate, Gengchuang adopted its 1000×500mm P31.25 outdoor grid LED panels. Each cabinet weighs merely 10.5 kg and boasts an IP65 waterproof and moisture-proof rating, enabling stable continuous operation even at temperatures as low as -30°C. Equipped with premium DIP through-hole LEDs delivering ultra-high brightness up to 10,000 nits, the panels maintain superior visual performance under all harsh weather conditions, greatly boosting the commercial operation revenue of the venue’s LED advertising displays.
The bucket-shaped panoramic screen stands 6.25 meters tall, assembled with four sets of upper panels, lower panels, main display panels, corner panels and scoreboards respectively. The upper screen stretches 8.5 meters in length, while the lower screen measures 6.5 meters. Four embedded 3m×1.5m display panels are built into the structure, alongside a circular bottom screen with a 2-meter diameter, forming a fully enclosed 360° panoramic viewing solution. It adopts a combined installation of GCL Gstar II series cabinets in two sizes: 1000×500mm and 750×500mm. The entire screen structure is crafted from lightweight materials, and anti-fall safety cables are fitted to each module to guarantee structural safety at high elevations. Compliant with ultra-high definition broadcast standards, the Gstar II series features wide color gamut, low grayscale high brightness, high contrast ratio, plus ultra-wide viewing angles of H160° / V140°. Supported by the 360° panoramic layout, the screen delivers consistent, synchronized image quality for on-site spectators and live broadcast feeds alike. It presents every detail of the event without blind spots, including live match footage, athlete close-ups, real-time score data and instant event notifications, delivering crisp viewing experiences for audiences across all spectator zones.
Continuous circular LED displays with a total length of 275 meters are installed around the bucket screen and along the eaves above spectator seating areas. Built with Gstar II series P4.9 750×500mm beveled cabinets, these perimeter advertising screens feature a lightweight design that allows fast, efficient installation. They not only unlock substantial commercial advertising revenue but also create an immersive, dynamic on-site atmosphere for competitions.
